Introducing
Under the leadership of our new local coordinator, Verónica Espinoza, our school offers a deeply authentic cultural experience. Verónica leverages her strong community connections to create unique opportunities for students to engage with local life. This fosters an enriching environment where you can build meaningful relationships and gain a genuine understanding of Nicaraguan culture and daily life.
For a truly immersive experience, we recommend staying with one of our carefully selected host families. All homestays are thoroughly inspected to ensure they meet our high standards for safety and comfort, providing you with a welcoming home base. Granada is also one of Nicaragua’s safest cities. If you prefer, we are happy to assist you in arranging a stay at a local hostel or hotel, with options available to suit any budget.
Your learning extends beyond the classroom! The city of Granada is rich with things to do and see, and our school organizes various activities and excursions for students. Simply ask our team about the planned events during your stay, and we will help you discover the vibrant culture and adventure that awaits.
About Granada Nicaragua
Granada is one of Nicaragua’s most historically important cities, both economically and politically. Situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Nicaragua, it was founded by Francisco Hernández de Córdoba on December 8, 1524. It has a rich colonial heritage, which is seen in its architecture and layout. Granada is commonly nicknamed the “Gran Sultana del Gran Lago” — the Great Sultan of the Great Lake.
This colonial city is a great place to learn Spanish. Although it is well-known to tourists, Granada maintains its charm with its 16th-century architecture, narrow streets, and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Horse-drawn buggies are everywhere, and there is a street dedicated solely to good restaurants and bars.
Here, you will study with a native Spanish tutor each morning. Our Spanish program consists of two hours of grammar and two hours of conversation, although we can customize the class structure to fit your specific needs. For accommodation, you can choose a homestay with a local family or stay at one of the excellent nearby hotels or hostels.
For a more intensive experience, our immersion program includes afternoon activities designed for practicing Spanish in real-life situations, supplementing your morning classes. This immersion package automatically includes a homestay with a local family, providing even more opportunities to practice your Spanish at home. We are happy to help you arrange all the details—just let us know!
